Roxanne 'Roxy' Pallett


playing the role of Jo Stiles Roxanne 'Roxy' Pallett is an English actress most famous forin the ITV1 soap opera, Emmerdale. In January 2006, she appeared in the reality singing competition Soapstar Superstar.

Pallett was born and brought up in Carlisle, Cumbria, by her mother and grandmother, where she attended Robert Ferguson Primary School and Trinity Secondary School.
After completing a degree in media and cultural studies at Liverpool John Moores University, she was a founder member of the girl band Urban Angel. After being signed to a music producer, Pallett decided to pursue an acting career. In
2005, Pallett landed her first acting role as Jo Stiles in ITV1's Emmerdale.Fronting 2006's Maxim magazine and currently the face of Loaded magazine (July 2008), Roxanne also counts modelling for fashion publications such as Closer, Reveal, Mizz, Hello and OK amongst her work.

Holding two nominations for best actress at the British Soap Awards 2008 and TV Quick Awards 2008 and acting as an ambassador for Womens Refuge and Carlisle's Eden Valley Hospice, she continues to be involved in Emmerdale's biggest storyline of the year (2008).
In August 2008, Roxanne confirmed she would be the public face of a campaign by the Women's Refuge that urges women to look out for early signs a partner may turn violent
